
About Heidi Longo, MFT
Heidi Longo received her Bachelor’s degree at UC Berkeley and her Master’s degree at San Francisco State University. Throughout her career, she has worked in Contra Costa County, Alameda County, and in the last 32 years, in Marin County.
In the last few years, Heidi has enjoyed her training in hypnotherapy, with a special focus on resolving trauma. Other areas of focus in recent trainings have included: dialectical behavior therapy, depression and suicide prevention, gender spectrum, neurodivergence, attachment theory, polyvagal practices, Internal Family Systems, the FLASH technique for resolving trauma, anxiety/stress management and mindfulness.
Heidi’s work in schools and in private practice has deepened her love for working with children and adults of all ages. She has a genuine appreciation of children’s, adults’ and couples’ resilience, regardless of age.
Heidi currently devotes her time to her private practice in San Rafael and is in the process of working on an educational video series project described below.
The Be Real, Be Well Project - An Educational Video Series: Heidi currently is developing and producing an Educational Video Series, “The Be Real, Be Well Project”for Middle and High School students. The free-of-cost videos are posted on Heidi’s Youtube channel, “The Be Real, Be Well Project” and offer valuable information about mental health and wellness topics, also featuring authentic and honest students’ voices. On the channel, there are also short videos and reels that are relevant to any age group and offer a variety of wellness related content that any viewer can directly apply to their own growth and mental health support. Videos and supplemental lessons are available to parents and schools who wish to use the materials for educational purposes. Stay tuned for more upcoming videos!
